Not enough time..

I will never be able to understand God’s timing.  I will never be able to understand God’s reasons.  Call it the divine mystery if you will.

God sent Katrina for some reason, though no one can tell me why, and no, I’m not listening to Pat Robertson when he says they had it coming.  God sent the Tsunami, though no one can tell me why.  God watches as thousands of innocent people are dying left and right in the pointless, yes, I said POINTLESS war in Iraq.  God made me to live this life with the most wonderful grandpa in the world, and now he’s slowly taking him out of my life, though no one can tell me why.

My amazing grandpa was told yesterday that without treatment, he has between five and eight months left.  And of course, my grandpa would rather spend those short months doing all he can, and not feel sick, which is how he would feel if he were doing chemotherapy.

I’m not mad at God, this is all a part of his plan, I just don’t understand why his plans turn out like this…with so much pain and sorrow.  If there was a less painful way to fulfill God’s plan, I’d say sign me up, but I know there isn’t.  So, insteand of prayer for my grandpa to miraculously be healed, I pray for peace of mind, for me, my family and most importantly, my grandpa.  He’s been there for the best moments and memories.  I’ll hold on to them for the rest of my life, but I’d almost rather hold onto my grandpa.

Spring time comes

I will be the gladdest thing under the sun
I will touch a hundred fowers and not pick one
I will look at cliffs and clouds with quiet eyes
Watch the wind bow down the grass
And the grass rise

Doesn’t each of us have a place where we belong
Could be a sidewalk crack or a sad song
Inside our searching is desire
To etch a silent thought in stone
Or make a tender heart known

I will be the gladdest thing under the sun
I will touch a hundred fowers and not pick one
I will look at cliffs and clouds with quiet eyes
Watch the wind bow down the grass
And the grass rise

And when the lights begin to show
Up from the town I will mark which must be mine
And then start down

Everybody wants to be a hero
Or a savior of small things
I want to be champion of evenings
To forget not the beauty of the in-betweens

Everyone of us an orphan
Our bodies born from
Dust of the stars
We can comfort eachother in this place
I can look into your eyes and see my own face

I will be the gladdest thing under the sun
I will touch a hundred fowers and not pick one
I will look at cliffs and clouds with quiet eyes
Watch the wind bow down the grass
And the grass rise

And when the lights begoin to show
Up from the town I will mark which must be mine
And then start down.

Scientology Strikes Again

Anyone who owns a TV or Radio, or walks by a magazine stand will know the wonderful world of TomKat.  I myself have posted a blog about their whirl-wind romance and soon to be bundle of joy.  But this blog isn’t like that…a praising, or what-the-crap-are-they-doing blog.  I’m leaning more towards what the crap are they thinking. It’s no secret that Tom Cruise is an avid follower of the Religion known as Scientology, a cultish religion based on the belief that Aliens started it all, a theory penned by wacko L. Ron Hubbard.  There are many voices out there saying it’s a calm and tranquil way of life.  Nevermind what it’s done to once-sweet, innocent and very Catholic Katie Holmes.  It’s starting to pull in followers all over the world, of course not counting out the growing number of A-list celebrities riding high on the Alien-loving bandwagon.  Scientology is the new Kabalah.  Move over Madonna, little red strings are SO last season.  Scientology even has a Compound in California, it’s gated to prevent anyone that doesn’t know the secret handshake from getting in.  Can anyone say…Waco, Texas part 2?  We all remember what happened there…honestly, do we really want history to be repeated here?

With that said…and trust me, this next thought will tie in to the first…

I’m not a huge follower of the show “South Park.”  It’s blatant stabs at Christianity, women, minorities and pretty much anything else in the realm of society and politics, are enough to turn my head and the channel.  But in all fairness, they stab at them all equally.  I’d be a hypocrite to say that this show is bad.  If that be the case, I shouldn’t be watching SNL either.  Both shows are harsh on the aforementioned issues, only with a different idea of humor.  I will admit, like SNL, there have been a few episodes of “South Park” that have left me in stitches.  The funniest I’ve seen, “Trapped in the Closet,”  the episode stabbing at Scientology, right down to it’s accurate and detailed explanation of L. Ron Hubbard’s Theory.  This episode featured the likeness of Tom Cruise, John Travolta, a noted follower of Scientology, and R. Kelly, who couldn’t even get accepted by Scientology if he tried…

Bringin it all in…

In a huge story in today’s news, it was announced that the scheduled airing of ”Trapped in the Closet” has been pulled of the air for this week, at the request, nay, avid demand of Tom Cruise, according to some reports.  The production company incharge of Comedy Central ultimately holds the reigns on Mission Impossible III, Cruise’s new summer blockbuster.  Threats of promotion withholding were made if the episode wasn’t pulled.  To add a twist to this already tragic plot of obliterating the 1st Amendment, in the last week or so, Isaac Hays, voice of ‘Chef,’ on the show, has pulled out of any involvement with the show.  Hayes is a long time scientology follower.

We live in a world where people are reaching for something to believe in.  God, Christ, an idea, anything to make things make sense in their head.  In my opinion, which is the point of blogs, to share thoughts and opinions, is that Scientology is just a way to make the lavish and often times ridiculous lifestyles of celebrities legitimate.  It’s sad to see God’s people straying so far from a path of ultimate happiness that he left for us.  It hurts to see His wonderful creations turn into something so far from the love and truth that God represents.  I don’t want to say that they’ll get what’s coming to them, but bottom line, this world won’t be here forever.  We will all have to answer to the choices we’ve made in life.  Is such a lackidasical lifestyle really that important?

Homage to singing Veggies

So I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head...
Song of the day:
His Cheeseburger by Mr. Lunt (http://www.bigidea.com/)
Silly Songs With Larry
And now it's time for love songs with Mr. Lunt, the part of the show where Mr. Lunt comes out and sings a love song...
He said to her,"I'd like a cheeseburger and I might like a
milkshake as well"
She said to him, "I can't give you either"
He said, "Isn't this this Burger Bell?"
She said," Yes it is but we're closed now but we open tomorrow
at 10"
He said, " I am extremely hungry but I guess I can wait until
then"

CHORUS:
'Cos you're his cheeseburger
His yummy cheeseburger
He'll wait for yo-u
He will wait for yo-u
Oh, you are his cheeseburger
His tasty cheeseburger
He'll wait for yo-u
Oh he will wait for you

He stayed at the drive-thru till sunrise
He may have dozed off once or twice
When he spotted a billboard for Denny's-
Bacon and Eggs for half price
How could he resist such an offer?
He really needed something to munch
Cheeseburger please do not get angry (Don't get angry)
He'll eat and be back here for lunch

CHORUS:
Cuz you're his cheeseburger
His precious cheeseburger
Be back for yo-u
He'll be back for yo-u
Won't be so long cheeseburger
Oh lovely cheeseburger
Be back for yo-u
Oh he'll be back for you

Because he loves you cheeseburger with all his heart
And there ain't nothin gonna tear you tw-o apart
and if the world suddenly ran out of cheese
he would get down on his hands and knees
to see if someone accidently dropped some cheese in the dirt
and he would wash it off for you
wipe it off for you
Clean that dirty cheese off JUST FOR YOU!!!!!

You are his cheeeeeesebuuuurrrrrgerrrrrrrrr

Update

Papa’s out of surgery, but the prognosis isn’t good.  They removed as much cancer as they could to make him comfortable, but it was too far gone…spread…to remove it all.  Doctors give him about a year.  He’s up and moving around now, so keep praying.

Chad’s home from Boot Camp for a week, next up is Combat Training for a month, then Intelligence Training for three.

I got a new job, a bit of a promotion if you will at the Post.  I will be working closely with radio and TV so I’m gettin pretty excited about that.  Too tired to elaborate or make this blog worth it…sorry.
