Knee Pads Out!

So I just found out that my grandpa’s condition has gotten worse.  This past week, when they operated to remove the tumors from his kidneys, they found that he has cancer in his Adrenal Glands.  He will once again go into surgery next Monday.  They will either attempt to remove the cancer or see if it’s too far gone, in which case they will give him a time frame of life.

I can’t even fathom my life without my grandpa so please, if you love me, know me, or just like to pray for the heck of it, PLEASE pray for my Grandpa.  Right now, as it stands, they’ve given him no more than a year.  That is just not acceptable.

Is it possible to have too many thoughts going on in a person’s head at one time…I just wish they’d all stop screaming so loudly.

When it rains, it pours!

Two blogs within hours of each other.  My grandpa has just found out that he’s got more tumors growing inside him.  Here’s what the i-pod is playing now…

“Here Comes The Flood”

When the night shows
the signals grow on radios
All the strange things
they come and go, as early warnings
Stranded starfish have no place to hide
still waiting for the swollen Easter tide
There’s no point in direction we cannot
even choose a side.

I took the old track
the hollow shoulder, across the waters
On the tall cliffs
they were getting older, sons and daughters
The jaded underworld was riding high
Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky
and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain
was warm and soaked the crowd.

Lord, here comes the flood
We’ll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It’ll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you’re running dry.

When the flood calls
You have no home, you have no walls
In the thunder crash
You’re a thousand minds, within a flash
Don’t be afraid to cry at what you see
The actors gone, there’s only you and me
And if we break before the dawn, they’ll
use up what we used to be.

Lord, here comes the flood
We’ll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
in any still alive
It’ll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you’re running dry.

What the i-Pod plays.

In an effort to avoid the “Missing the Past” lament that I’m so well at doing, I am listening to some great music I just added to my i-Pod.  It’s really getting my mental juices flowing.  Though I’m not going to spill them out on the screen of an online journal, I will at least post the lyrics to this song.  Not so much a song of the day, just a song for my thoughts.

“Waiting”  Maren Ord

I’m sitting here, I’m waiting patiently
For the clock to turn, it’s not all that fast today
So I’m on my own, I know I’m not alone
I’ll be witnessing a happy ending

I’m sitting here in silence
I’m waiting here patiently
I’m wondering if you’re waiting too.
I’m sitting here alone now
I’m waiting here on my own
I’m wondering If you’re waiting too.

I’m watching now,
And I’m seeing others as they pass me by
It’s not a pretty sight, but it will be someday

And it’s not that I, not that I’m afraid of losing you
I’m afraid of me, and what my choices might do

I’m sitting here in silence
I’m waiting here patiently
I’m wondering if you’re waiting too.
I’m sitting here alone now
I’m waiting here on my own
I’m wondering If you’re waiting too.

All the time I seem to wonder
How all this is gonna end
Will you stay with me forever
And tell me that you’ll never go away

I’m sitting here in silence
I’m waiting here patiently
I’m wondering if you’re waiting too.
I’m sitting here alone now
I’m waiting here on my own
I’m wondering If you’re waiting too.
