Marital Status?

SOOOO Many people are getting married.  I’m in four this year.  So that’s made me think about some things…

Not sure what my thoughts are or what they mean, but I’ve been thinking.  Is there some reason why I don’t want to get married?  Is there something wrong with not wanting to get married?  When I say “not getting married,” I mean I’m not looking for it.  I used to tell myself that I didn’t want to get married because I didn’t think there was a guy out there that would actually want to marry me.  So as my own personal defense mechanism, I convinced myself that I didn’t want to get married. and I guess it kind of stuck.  Now, however, it’s not that I don’t think there’s someone out there for me, it’s more like I’ve got a lot of things I want to do in my life before I even think about settling down.

I’ve never been one for sharing myself.  I’m a very selfish person, and I’m not affraid to admit that.  I like my time to myself.  Now, I love spending time with friends, Paul, my family, etc., but I also love my ‘me’ time.

All of these reasons sound like great excuses to not want to get married, but are they ligit, or are they my always present defense mechanisms still at play?

***Disclaimer*** I’m very happy and excited for those that are getting married and have gotten married recently.  I wish all the love and happiness life can give.***

Hey look, a real blog!

So I’m sitting here at my desk, waiting for phone calls from military Pubilc Affairs Offices.  They are my link to hard to find photos for the fallen soldiers.  It never gets any easier to do this job.  Speaking of jobs, I’m in the market (as it were) for a new one.  I’ve interviewed for a position at the brand spakin new, Continuous News Radio Station of the Post.  I’m itching to put to use my knowledge in the field of broadcasting.  I’m tired of spinnig my wheels in print, I’m just too bored.  But enough about that…

I’m listening to random selections on my iPod and the songs keep coming from the A Walk to Remember soundtrack.  For some reason, everytime I hear anything from that CD, I get all homesick and nostalgic.  It makes me miss the beach, Beaufort to be exact.  Go figure.  I finally make a real post, and like always, it’s about how much I miss things about NC.  Oh me…it probably doesn’t help that a few days ago I was in the Creek with my beloved camels.  Thanks for a great visit guys.  I LOVE YOU!!!!

Though it’s not that long of a post, at least it’s not a survey.  I’m currently on the phone with the wonderful people in the Public Affairs Office of Parris Island.  Yes, that’s the boot camp Chad is currently crawling through mud at.  Fun times in Irony Land.

Time to Pray for those that pray (on TV and make money off of it)

As if Tom Cruise making a joke of Religion wasn’t enough…now we have to (and have had to) deal with Pat Robertson making Christians look like fools…
