I’ll be missing you…

Song of the day:

Piece of My Heart by Keri Noble (www.kerinoble.com)

Driving down the highway saying goodbye to it all
In between the blues and greens we’re following the call
That takes us so far away from summer’s sunny days
You know I’m missing you already and I can still see your face

Sitting underneath the stars with a cold beer and old friends
Talking ’til the sun comes up and then we’d do it again
Well you’ve become a part of me that I never want to lose
Until we come back together you know I’ll be missing you

I can hear us laughing
I remember every part
I’ve got everything we ever did
It’s tattooed on my heart
But there’s a colder wind coming in
And blowing us apart
Until the summer brings us back,
You know you got a piece of my heart

Watching your taillights fading out of my sight
Feeling like the sun just lost a little bit of its light
But you’ve left your memories to linger, new memories to start
‘Til the summer brings you back, you know you got a piece of my heart

I can hear us laughing
I remember every part
I’ve got everything we ever did
It’s tattooed on my heart
But there’s a colder wind coming in
And blowing us apart
Until the summer brings us back,
You know you got a piece of my heart

Dedicated to my great Campbell family I’ve come to love more than anything in the past four years.  Thanks everyone, for making my life better! I love you all and I’ll miss everyone!!!

Unkind Nights

Song of the day:

Answer by Sarah McLachlan (www.sarahmclachlan.com)

I will be the answer
At the end of the line
I will be there for you
While you take the time
In the burning of uncertainty
I will be your solid ground
I will hold the balance
If you can’t look down

If it takes my whole life
I won’t break, I won’t bend
It will all be worth it
Worth it in the end
Cause I can only tell you what I know
That I need you in my life
When the stars have all gone out
You’ll still be burning so bright

Cast me gently
Into morning
For the night has been unkind
Take me to a place so holy
That I can wash this from my mind
The memory of choosing not to fight

If it takes my whole life
I won’t break, I won’t bend
It will all be worth it
Worth it in the end
‘Cause I can only tell you what I know
That I need you in my life
When the stars have all burned out
You’ll still be burning so bright

Cast me gently
Into morning
For the night has been unkind

I might as well be dreaming

Song of the day:

Out of the Woods by Nickel Creek (www.nickelcreek.com)

I wish you out of the woods
And into a picture with me
I wish you over the moon
Come out of the question and be

If this is gonna run around in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run around in my head

I rollercoaster for you
Time out of mine, must be heavenly
It’s all enchanting and wild
It’s just like my heart said it was gonna be

If this is gonna run around in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run around in my head

Where I want to be…

Song of the day:

Breathing by Lifehouse (in honor of there being here at CU) (www.lifehousemusic.com)

I’m finding my way back to sanity again
though I don’t really know what I’m gonna do when I get there
and take a breath and hold on tight
spin around one more time
and gracefully fall back to the arms of grace

cause I am hanging on every word you say and
even if you don’t want to speak tonight
that’s alright, alright with me
cause I want nothing more than
to sit outside Heaven’s door
and listen to you breathing
is where I wanna be yeah

I’m looking past the shadows in my mind into the truth and I’m
trying to identify the voices in my head
God which one’s you
let me feel one more time what it
feels like to feel and
break these calluses off of me
one more time

cause I am hanging on every word you say and
even if you don’t wanna speak tonight
that’s alright, alright with me
cause I want nothing more than
to sit outside your door
and listen to your breathing
is where I wanna be yeah
where I wanna be

I don’t want a thing from you
bet you’re tired of me
waiting for the scraps to fall off of your table to the ground
cause I just want to be here now

cause I am hanging on every word you say and
even if you don’t wanna speak tonight
that’s alright, alright with me
cause I want nothing more than
to sit outside Heaven’s door
and listen to your breathing
is where I wanna be yeah

SOD Break

Lost in total frustration, I beg to see the truth
My mind in complete upheaval, yet centered around you
I wish so badly to find a ground for my feel to anchor to
But more and more I get tripped up, my thoughts are nothing new…

I’ve tried too long to keep myself from falling in one direction
But somehow it never fails, I’m stuck in this mess I’m in…

There’s a song that calls it a Beautiful Mess, but a mess all the same
Time and time I tell myself, my life is not a game…

So, if, in the end, it crashes down, like my life usually does
I’ll have the time spent, kept in my head, to remember how it was…

Song of the day will be back soon…

I will be here still

Song of the day:

If No One Will Listen by Keri Noble (www.kerinoble.com)

Maybe no one told you there is strength in your tears
And so you fight to keep from pouring out
But what if you unlock the gate that keeps your secret soul
Do you think there’s enough that you would drown?

If no one will listen
If you decide to speak
If no one’s left standing after the bombs explode
If no one wants to look at you
For what you really are
I will be here still

No one can take you where you alone must go
There’s no telling what you will find there
And, God, I know the fear that eats away at your bones
It’s screaming every step, “Just stay here”

If no one will listen
If you decide to speak
If no one’s left standing after the bombs explode
If no one wants to look at you
For what you really are
I will be here still

If you find your fists are raw and red from beating yourself down
If your legs have given out under the weight
If you find you’ve been settling for a world of gray
So you wouldn’t have to face down your own hate

If no one will listen
If you decide to speak
If no one’s left standing after the bombs explode
If no one wants to look at you
For what you really are
I will be here still

This one is dedicated to Melinda…

Rhyming wrong words

Song of the day:

Collide by Howie Day (www.howieday.com)

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you

I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

I’m quiet you know
You make a first impression
I’ve found I’m scared to know I’m always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide

Don’t stop here
I lost my place
I’m close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to ryhme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide

Grow tall and testify

Song of the day:

My Offering by Nichole Nordeman (www.nicholenordeman.com)

If You made me like the grass that is green
Growing tall; covering the hills above me
Maybe I would pray for sunshine and a little rain
To fall now and then to make me lovely
I could be a place where sheep could graze
Or barefoot feet could play
And I would grow and grow and hope You’d bend down low
To hear me sing my offering

Open up the heavens, open up the skies
All of Your creation wants to testify
I have a song so let the earth sing along
‘Cause I just want to praise You

If You made me to be a cloud in the sky
Found the perfect place way up high where I could hover
Maybe I would pray for skies that were blue
Or a sunset or two to show Your colors
Or maybe I might be
A mountian strong and steep
But I would try and stand as tall as I can
And I would sing my offering

Open up the heavens, open up the skies
All of Your creation wants to testify
I have a song so let the earth sing along
‘Cause I just want to praise You

And the sun every morning can not wait to shine
And the stars every evening are all standing by to light the sky
Give the rocks and the stones voices of their own
If we forget to sing praises to our King

So open up the heavens, open up the skies
All of Your creation wants to testify
Hallelujah
We just want to praise you
We just want to praise you
Hallelujah
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Hallelujah
I have a song so let the earth sing along
‘Cause I just want to praise You
